Erik Fraser
Erik Fraser opened the Erik M. Fraser Law Office in September of 2011 and has practiced law in the Durham Region since 2006. The office focuses on the client experience and recognizes the importance of community, integrity and respect. Following the opening of Fraser Law Professional Corporation, Mr. Fraser commented on his business and goals:
We saw the need in the Oshawa and Durham community for a law firm that treated each client respectfully and recognized the unique issues facing each client. The members of our community expect a high level of individualized service and to work directly with Oshawa estate planning, real estate and corporate lawyers and staff as much as possible. Our team all buy in to this vision. Members of this community want to work with approachable and friendly professionals in a comfortable setting. Our clients rely on our expertise and our high level of service. More than advertising or any form of marketing, our success has been generated from satisfied clients in the community who trust us to work closely with their friends and family to meet their legal needs.
Prior to opening Fraser Law Professional Corporation, Mr. Fraser worked as both an associate and owner at established firms in the Durham Region and Northern Ontario. Mr. Fraser graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba in 2005 and completed the Bar Admission Course at the University of Western Ontario in 2006. Prior to attending law school Mr. Fraser completed a four year Bachelor of Arts with honors at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Originally from a small town in Northern Ontario, Mr. Fraser appreciates living in the Durham Region and working with the local community.
Mr. Fraser takes an active role in the community attending networking and charity events as well as regularly hosting home buyer and wills and estates seminars. Mr. Fraser is a member of the Durham Region Law Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Canadian Bar Association. In his spare time Mr. Fraser enjoys participating in local hockey leagues, and spending quality time with his wife and children. Mr. Fraser promotes a health conscious, alcohol free lifestyle with full dedication to his family and clients.
Tracy Prakken
Tracy is a seasoned Law Clerk with over 30 years of dedicated experience in real estate law. Throughout her career, she has developed a comprehensive understanding of property transactions, title examinations, contract drafting, and closing procedures. Her deep industry knowledge and meticulous attention to detail ensure that every matter is handled efficiently and accurately. Tracy also has experience in Wills and Estates. Besides her current real estate role, she has also transitioned into handling all aspects of the office administration.
Tracy ensures that all clients have a positive experience with our firm. She understands that all clients are a priority and believes in providing a high level of professional service to everyone.
Tracy was born and raised in Oshawa. She is married and a devoted mother. Outside the office, she cherishes quality time with family and friends, often gathering for weekend barbecues or attending local community events. An avid baseball fan, she enjoys following both major and minor league games.
Regan Gassira
Regan is an Estates Law Clerk at Fraser Law Professional Corporation, where she assists clients with a wide range of estate planning and administration services. Her work includes the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney for individuals and couples, as well as handling estate administration matters such as Applications for Certificates of Appointment of Estate Trustee, with or without a Will, and related proceedings.
Regan graduated with Presidential Honours from the Law Clerk Advanced program at Durham College and is committed to delivering exceptional client service with professionalism and care.
Outside of work, Regan enjoys travelling to tropical destinations, spending quality time with her daughters and granddaughter, baking, and crocheting.
Michele Lachaine
Michele is a dedicated and detail-oriented law clerk who recently graduated from the Law Clerk Advanced program at Durham College. Throughout her studies, she developed a solid foundation in document preparation, real estate and wills and estates. Known for her positive attitude and unwavering professionalism, Michele has consistently earned praise from instructors, peers, and clients alike.
Michele is committed to ongoing learning and looks forward to leveraging her strong work ethic and diligent approach in a busy law firm. She aims to support lawyers through exceptional client care.
Michele enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs. She can usually be found doing outdoor activities in and around Oshawa in her spare time.
Debbie Vanhaeften
Debbie has worked in the Durham Region as a Law Clerk for 35 years. She obtained her certification as a Law Clerk from the Ontario Institute of Law Clerks in 1990. Debbie enjoys working with clients at our Oshawa law offices, particularly working with clients directly and ensuring their individual needs are met.
Erik Fraser and the entire team at Fraser Law Professional Corporation would like to congratulate Debbie on her retirement! Debbie made massive and valuable contributions to Fraser Law Professional Corporation from the opening of the firm in 2009 until retiring in July of 2025. We all wish Debbie well in her retirement where she will greatly enjoy spending time with her lovely family.
